Jo Watmore
Financial Controller

Joined Equilibrium in 2015

I’m originally from Surrey, having moved to the North West 11 years ago. I am married with two teenage sons, Toby and Leo. We have mad cocker spaniel called Billy who we love taking out on long walks. When I get spare time (which isn’t often!) I can be found pottering in the garden.

I joined EQ in April 2018 having spent the previous 3 years as Finance Director of Altrincham-based Mint Bridging, who deliver short term financing for property investments and developments.

I qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1995 when I was working at Reed Elsevier. I have since worked at a number of other blue chip companies including JPMorgan Chase, Thomson Reuters, Inchcape and mydentist.

Many of my previous roles have been a blend of finance and change management. I have lead numerous process improvement projects in my career, and I am always looking for a better/more efficient way of working within the finance team and to do our best to support the rest of the business.

I am adept with IT systems and can turn my hand to most new ones that I’m introduced to. I’m also a bit of an Excel ‘geek’!

EQ appealed to me as an incredibly successful business which is very well organised, investing for growth and nurturing its staff. When you first walk into the Equilibrium offices, it’s clear that it’s a professional company with great integrity that wants to do its best for clients. Everyone was so welcoming when I started, and I’m really impressed by the positive ‘can-do’ attitude of the organisation.
