The East Cheshire’s Musical Theatre Company has landed £500 after applying to Equilibrium's Community Support Scheme.

Based in Cheadle, the amateur theatre company said the funds will allow them to continue to promote the arts as a form of wellbeing.

Equilibrium’s Community Support Scheme awards grants ranging from £100 to £500 to community organisations and charities across the region.

The wealth management company has run the scheme since 2015 and awarded over £14,000 in funds to community groups to date.

The East Cheshire’s was founded in 1910 and works to bring together people from across the local community while also undertaking a raft of charitable initiatives.

Thom Copestake, an actor from The East Cheshire’s Musical Theatre Company who is responsible with helping with the fundraising for the company, said: “This grant will allow the society to grow and develop, to continue to promote the arts as a form of wellbeing, to engage with the local community and continue to support the charity and outreach work undertaken by members.”
