Equilibrium employees holding a cheque for Queen Park High School

Queens Park High School will spend £360 on lifejackets after being awarded a grant from Equilibrium Asset Management’s Chester Community Support Scheme.

The six lifejackets will be used by members of the Chester-based school’s rowing club.

Richard Cox, rowing coach at Queens Park High School Rowing Club, welcomed the grant.

He said: “We are very pleased to have landed this grant as it enables us to purchase more much-needed lifejackets, which are essential as they allow a wearer to keep afloat in the water.

“Pupils are very much enjoying the challenges associated with rowing, but safety is an essential aspect of any sport and rowing is no different.”

Equilibrium Asset Management’s Community Support Scheme awards grants ranging between £100 and £500 to community organisations and charities across the region.

Applications are now open to a community support scheme which gives charities, voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations across Chester the chance to win grants of £500.

Equilibrium Asset Management has run the scheme since 2015 and awarded almost £10,000 in funds to community groups to date.

Applications to the second round of this year’s community support scheme can be submitted up until September 17.
